How to Make Hydrating Skin Repair Serum from Home Ingredients?

You don’t have to pay an amount of money just to stay pretty as you can make your own skin repair serum from your home to keep hydrating the skin. Many store brands of skincare contain harsh chemical ingredients, toxical substances, artificial colours and many other questionable ingredients that you wouldn’t want to swipe every day on your face. If you have low confidence with the drugstore skincare product, you have another choice by switching to the homemade-based products that you can create on your own. Besides going natural by home remedies, you can also save a few bucks by using a cheap source of natural ingredients with the same results of using high-end products. There are few recipes for particular purposes on how to repair the skin surface from home ingredients.

1. Facial wash


The facial wash is one of the important routine to keep hydrating the skin. You just need liquid castile soap, water, essential oils of any type according to the suitability of your skin and carrier oil. Castile soap helps to rid off dirt and makeup without damaging the skin and the carrier oil like almond oil helps to moisturize the skin surface and provide the vitamins to make skin look healthy. In a soap bottle, add in castile liquid soap, organic oil like almond oil and then add the essential as desired. Fill with water to the top of the bottle to dilute the soap and essential oil and shake well before use.

2. Facial scrub


Store-bought facial scrub nowadays produced with microbeads as they help exfoliated and smoothed the skin, but microbeads waste are alarming the environment. Those microbeads waste go down through the sink and pipeline end up in lakes, rivers and oceans and turn out to be in our food supply as fishes ate them. As an alternative, you can make your own facial scrub using some of the ingredients from your kitchen. Prepare 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 1 or 2 drops of Frankincense essential oil, 1 or 2 drops of Lavender essential oil and some water for mixing. Mix all the ingredients and put into a small jar. Use 1 or 2 tablespoons and mix it with water to make a paste, then scrub the paste onto the skin lightly for few minutes. 3. Toner


Toner functions as to balanced the pH level of the skin especially for the oily type of skin and prevent it from having an acne breakout. One of the ingredients for homemade toner recipe is a well-known apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar is known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and acts well to treat pimples and reduce redness. You just need filtered water, apple cider vinegar, Lavender essential oil and Frankincense essential oil for the mix. For normal or dry skin, mix ⅓ of apple cider vinegar to ⅔ of filtered water while for oily skin, mix ½ part of apple cider vinegar to ½ part of filtered water. Then add a few drops of Lavender and Frankincense essential oils and keep them in a small bottle at room temperature. Use the toner two times a day; one time right after the morning shower and another one before your bedtime.

4. Facial serum


You may find the facial serum with an expensive cost at the store, but if you need the affordable way of having the facial serum, there is no better way than the do-it-yourself solution with the same level of effectiveness. All you need to have a good skin tone with fewer wrinkles are the carrier oil like Rosehip seed oil, Frankincense essential oil, Lavender essential oil, Myrrh essential oil, Helichrysum essential oil and Rose essential oil. Mix all together (few drops of each essential oil) in a dropper bottle and fill the Rosehip seed oil to the top of the bottle. Use this facial serum every morning and night around the dull-looks area of the skin.1 Rosehip seed oil is proven to repair the skin and helps to equalize the skin tone according to researchers from the University of San Marcos.

5. Facial moisturizer


To moisturize the skin using homemade ingredients, the choice of the carrier oil is very important. Carrier oil or the base oil are made from various type of flowers, nuts and even vegetables like almond, macadamia nut, sesame, jojoba and rose hip. Each brings their own benefits to the skin’s health. Jojoba oil, for example, works very well to treat dryness, ageing, oily or acne-prone skin. In this recipe, Argan oil is a choice for the carrier oil as it absorbs quickly into the skin without an oily feel. Mix 2 oz. of the Argan oil with 15 drops of Frankincense oil, 10 drops of Lavender oil and 10 drops of Carrot Seed oil. Store the mixing in a dropper bottle and use 1 to 2 pumps every morning and night to moisturize your skin as needed.

All natural ingredients are safe to use with the right amount of mixture. No harmful chemical substances were added into the mixture as you make it on your own with your preferable choices of ingredients.
