A study from Harvard Medical  School shows that there is a close connection between diet and fertility. In other words, you can better your ovulatory function without medical interference if you know what foods you should eat and what you should avoid. Here is the list of diet changes that can help raise your fertility.

Complex carbs

You should eat more complex carbs and restrict greatly processed ones. The body can rapidly digest bad carbs such as cookies, white bread, cakes, and transform them into blood sugar. The pancreas’ mission is to generate insulin into the bloodstream so that the blood-sugar spike can decrease. On the other hand, the body slowly digest good carbs such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, foods that have fiber, and little by little affect blood sugar and insulin. Studies have revealed that ovulation seems to be prevented in case of high levels of insulin.

Unsaturated fats

You need to stay away from all of the trans fats and take in more unsaturated fats which are healthy. Foods such as commercial baked and snack foods, fries, animal products are rich in trans fat which is able to raise insulin resistance. Assisted by insulin, glucose can transfer from bloodstream to the cells. Increasing insulin resistance means that glucose has difficulty in moving into the cells. Therefore, the pancreas constantly releases insulin, thus leading to high level of insulin in the bloodstream. This can result in metabolic disturbances which has an impact on ovulation.

Protein

You are advised to absorb plant protein which have healthy fats and is comparatively low in calories. Furthermore, it can even help you lose weight. You can find plant protein from seeds, nuts, beans. Taking in protein from plant foods is preferred to red meat.

Whole milk

It is found that women whose diets have more low-fat dairy products usually have more difficulty in becoming pregnant. On the other hand, women who usually consume full-fat dairy products have less difficulty in falling pregnant. It is suggested that whole milk or other full-fat dairy foods should be added to your diet while low-fat dairy non-fat dairy should be reduced.

Caffein

You ought to consume coffee, tea at a moderate level, and completely stay away from sugary drinks. Harvard school shows that a couple of cups of coffee/tea have no influence on ovulation problems.

Multivitamin

Over 8 years, women in the Harvard study who, on a daily basis, consume multivitamins that carry 400 micrograms of folic acid were about 40 percent less likely to undergo ovulatory infertility than women who hardly consumed multivitamins mentioned above.
