What is hapacol used for?

Hapacol is used to treat many conditions such as headache, muscle aches, arthritis, backache, toothaches, colds, and fevers. It relieves pain in mild arthritis but has no effect on the underlying inflammation and swelling of the joint.

How should I take hapacol?

Use hapacol exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not use more of this medication than is recommended. An overdose of hapacol can cause serious harm.

How do I store hapacol?

Hapacol is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store hapacol in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of hapacol that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

What should I know before using hapacol?

Before using this drug, tell your doctor if:

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding. This is because, while you are expecting or feeding a baby, you should only take medicines on the recommendation of a doctor.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of asthma, bleeding problems, growths in the nose, heart, kidney or liver disease, liver inflammation, high blood pressure, chickenpox, anxiety, trouble in sleeping, ulcers, stomach problems, stroke, Kawasaki syndrome, any allergy, who are taking other medications.

Side effects

What side effects can occur from hapacol?

  • Low fever with nausea, stomach pain, and loss of appetite
  • Dark urine, clay-colored stools
  • Jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes)

What is the dose of hapacol for an adult?

Adults: 0.5-1gm, 3-6 times daily max 4gm.

What is the dose of hapacol for a child?

Children: 15mg/kg/dose or 60mg/kg/24hr divided every 6 hrs.

Maximum 5 doses SOS.

How is hapacol available?

Hapacol is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

  • 150mg sachet
  • 250mg sachet
  • 325 tablet
  • 650 mg tablet

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of hapacol, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
