Surprising Reasons You're Having Less Sex

Sex is an indispensable part of a healthy relationship. It not only keeps the physical and emotional intimacy between you and your partner but also boosts your health. So, why are your having less and less sex?

    Your bed is boring

Your bed should be used for sleep and sex only. Technology gadgets such as laptops and smartphones are not welcome because they may cause insomnia and drive your sex needs down the hill. Think about a time when you want to start it but your partner is glued to their laptop. How can you get their hands off the keyboard and on you? If you want your sex life back, try your best to keep technology out of your bed.

Your medications interfere with your sex urge

Many people take oral birth control pills so they can have as much sex as they want without worrying about a baby. Ironically, the estrogen in those pills may inhibit your sex hormones, making you less interested in sex. Even if you are not using birth control pills, you can still suffer from decreased sex drive if you take certain medications to treat anxiety, depression, acid reflux, and high blood pressure. If you think the root of your bedroom problem is your medications, talk to your doctor. Do not try to adjust or skip medications on your own. Your doctor will likely change your medications so that they do not affect your sex drive as much.

    You are too busy

All the work tasks and house chores can be exhausting. When you are finally in bed, it’s likely that you do not have any energy left to make love. You only want to get a good night sleep so you are energized enough to pull through the next day. Physical exhaustion takes a toll on everyone’s sex drive. Fortunately, sex doesn’t have to happen at night. Why not kick start your day with something hot and exciting?

    You have insecurities

Women who are overweight or who are not in their best shape due to pregnancy may experience sex withdrawal. The media has done a good job at distorting the ideal body image of people. It makes you believe that you have to look like supermodels to have good sex. In fact, your partner does not care about your waistline as much as you do. Ask them about what they like about you to give yourself a confidence booster. However, losing some weight may be helpful as well. Taking even just a few kilograms off greatly help women feel sexier.
