Always keep the acne clean

Wash the acne area gently with cool water and mild soap regularly to prevent it from bacteria and keep out germs. Bacteria and germs can slow down the healing process.

You should only use hydrogen peroxide, iodine, or alcohol with the prescription of your doctor. For large wound, they can kill bacteria, but for acne, they can make the acne take a longer time to clear.

Keep it covered

For your acne, when you go out, you should cover it with an acne cover. This can prevent acne from dirt and bacteria in the environment. You can use an antibiotic drug to apply to your acne in order to kill bacteria. For some large acne, dryness can lower the clearing process. Thus you should provide them with moist for a faster recovery. Change the cover daily or every 3 or 4 hours. This depends on the instruction of the products. Read carefully before you use it.

Do not squeeze or pick your acne up

Squeezing or picking up your acne can lead to serious scar later on. By doing these, you make your skin is more vulnerable to bacteria that can cause skin infection, results in acne scar.

Always use sunscreen on your skin

Sun exposure may make the acne area become darker. Sunlight can damage your skin cells and make your skin develop brown or red acne. You can protect your skin by using broad-spectrum products for your skin.

These steps above can reduce the risk of developing acne scars after the acne has gone. However, talk to your doctor immediately if you experience some abnormal things such as redness or swelling.
