Melasma, also known as skin hyperpigmentation, is a really common condition. Melasma is followed by brown patches on your skin and even your face due to its interference in the natural skin color. Melasma is common and not a serious problem. Here are some ways to treat melasma.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is believed to make a great contribution to lightening your skin thanks to its wondrous astringent features. Another property that makes lemon juice so special is its acidic nature, which can remove the outer layer of skin along with the melasma on it. What you need to do is prepare some lemon juice, then apply it on the hyperpigmented skin.  After 20 minutes, wash it with lukewarm water. This remedy is recommended to do two times a day. In three weeks, improvement will appear.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Thanks to its richness in acetic acid, apple cider vinegar is well-known as a robust bleaching agent. It not only makes the brown spots go away, but also smooths and rejuvenates your skin.  What you need to do is concoct apple cider vinegar with water. Rub the mixture on the affected areas, and leave it dry. After that, wash your skin with warm water and pat dry in a tender way. Do this one time a day is enough.

Turmeric

Turmeric is another effective agent to fight against melasma due to its active curcumin whose function is to make your skin lighter and reduce oxidization. What you need to do is combine 5 tablespoons of turmeric powder with 10 tablespoons of milk. In order to make the mixture thick, you give it one tablespoon of gram flour. Have your affected areas drown in this paste. After 20 minutes, wash it with warm water, and use a towel to pat dry it. You should practice this method every day.

Onion Juice

The sulfur-containing compounds in onion juice turn it into an exceptionally effective treatment. Under the influence of these compounds, brown or dark patches will be erased. What you need to do is chop around three onions. To draw out juice, place them in a piece of cloth and squeeze. Ascertain the amount of onion juice to combine with the comparable amount of apple cider vinegar. Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture on the skin with melasma. After 20 minutes, rinse the skin off with lukewarm water. You are suggested to apply this remedy two times a day for a couple weeks.

Oatmeal

Such is its possession of wonderful exfoliating agent that oatmeal is very famous as a cure for skin hyperpigmentation. Oatmeal is able to get rid of brown spots on the face and grant you a shining, radiant complexion. What you need to do is mix together two tablespoons of oatmeal powder, two tablespoons of milk and one tablespoon of honey. Like other treatments, you apply it on the melasma skin and wait for 20 minutes. Wash it with water. This method needs to be done only two or three times a week.
