What is Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire used for?
Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire (Neomycin, Polymyxin B, Dexamethasone) is commonly used for the treatment of superficial bacterial infections of the external auditory canal caused by susceptible organisms, and for the treatment of infections of mastoidectomy and fenestration caused by susceptible organisms.
Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire may be prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information.
How should I take Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire?
Follow all directions on your prescription label.
Do not take this medicine in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended.
To use Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire:
- Shake well before using.
- For use in the ear only. Do not use in eyes.
- Avoid touching the dropper to the ear, fingers, or other objects to preserve the sterility of the solution.
- Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
- The external auditory canal should be thoroughly cleaned and dried with a sterile cotton applicator.
- Patients should lie with the affected ear upward, and then the drops should be instilled. This position should be maintained for a few minutes to facilitate penetration of the drops into the ear canal. Repeat, if necessary, for the opposite ear.

How do I store Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire?
Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire in the bathroom or the freezer. What should I do if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose of Polydexa® Solution Auriculaire, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
