What is Mucosolvan® (ambroxol HCL) used for?

Mucosolvan® is commonly used for all forms of tracheobronchitis, emphysema with bronchitis pneumoconiosis, chronic inflammatory pulmonary conditions, bronchiectasis, bronchitis with bronchospasm asthma.

How should I take Mucosolvan® (ambroxol HCL)?

Take it by mouth. Take as directed by your doctor or follow the direction printed on the product insert. Dosage is based on your condition. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.

How do I store Mucosolvan® (ambroxol HCL)?

What is the dose of Mucosolvan® (ambroxol HCL) for an adult?

Daily dose is 30 mg (one tablet) to 120 mg (4 tablets), taken in 2 to 3 divided doses.

What is the dose of Mucosolvan® (ambroxol HCL) for a child?

Children up to 2 years: half a teaspoonful syrup twice daily.

Children 2 – 5 years: half a teaspoonful syrup 3 times daily.

Children over 5 years: One teaspoonful syrup 2-3 times daily.

How is Mucosolvan® (ambroxol HCL) available?

Mucosolvan® is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

  • Tablets
  • Syrup

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Mucosolvan®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
