What is Seduxen® (Diazepam) used for?

Seduxen® is a benzodiazepine, commonly used to treat anxiety, muscle spasms, and seizures.

How should I take Seduxen® (Diazepam)?

For orally taken form, you should:

  • Take Seduxen® by mouth as directed by your doctor concerning: dose, schedule.

Do not use it if you have narrow ­angle glaucoma or untreated open ­angle glaucoma,

myasthenia gravis, sleep apnea or severe breathing problems, or severe liver disease.

What is the dose of Seduxen® (Diazepam) for an adult?

Recommended doses for oral dosage form in some cases are listed below:

For anxiety

2 to 10 milligrams (mg) two to four times per day. For older adults, start dose can be 2 to 2.5 milligrams (mg) once or twice per day and can be gradually increased needed.

For alcohol withdrawal

10 milligrams (mg) three or four times for the first 24 hours, then 5 mg three to four times per day as needed. For older adults, start dose can be 2 to 2.5 milligrams (mg) once or twice per day and can be gradually increased needed.

For muscle spasm

2 to 10 milligrams (mg) three or four times per day. For older adults, start dose can be 2 to 2.5 milligrams (mg) once or twice per day and can be gradually increased needed.

For seizures

2 to 10 milligrams (mg) two to four times per day. For older adults,  start dose can be 2 to 2.5 milligrams (mg) once or twice per day and can be gradually increased needed.

What is the dose of Seduxen® (Diazepam) for a child?

Consult your doctor for information about the dose of Seduxen® hydrochloride.

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services (115) or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Seduxen®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
