Beat Your Joint Pain with These Herbs and Spices

In that study, four new compounds were isolated from the ginger and it all showed the potential inhibitory effect to lessen prostaglandin synthesis, which is the source of inflammation. The ginger also showed its effect of inhibiting prostaglandin and leukotriene biosynthesis which support the anti-inflammatory action. The ginger also plays an important role against some diseases like asthma, diabetes, stroke and constipation as it contains phytochemical ingredients.

Aloe barbadensis or aloe vera is known for its healing function for skin aches such as small cuts, stings of insects, bruises and swelling, poison ivy and eczema. Compounds such as anthraquinone, anthracene, cinnamic acid and anthranilic acid found in the aloe vera are responsible as the anti-arthritis and powerful anti-inflammatory agent. Aloe vera also applied as a blood purifier, diuretic, uterine tonic, laxative, fever reliever as well as antibacterial and antifungal. Acemannan and glucomannan are two polysaccharides found in the aloe vera plant which give benefits to the inflammation. This also includes accelerates tissue regeneration, enhance and stimulate the immune response and boost the white blood cells.

Black pepper has a woody, aromatic and pungent aroma with a fiery flavour. Piperine is the bioactive compound obtained from the black pepper which can decrease the arthritic symptoms in carrageenan-induced acute paw arthritis. It also boosts the secretion of gastric juice, relieves nausea, headaches and helps with poor digestion.

Other than that, turmeric is also considered among the most effective herbs to prevent the inflammation of joint pain rather than reduce the pain. It is originated in India and China and been cultivated in several countries including Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Jamaica and Peru. It contains volatile oil, starch grains, resins, and curcuminoids. Curcumin, the main component of curcuminoids acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and as for that, it has been adopted in wound healing, hepatoprotection (an ability to protect the liver from damage), and neuroprotection. The Indian Allepey is considered as the high-quality rhizomes as it has the highest content of curcumin than any other rhizomes. In vivo curcuminoid evaluation showed that it can diminish both acute and chronic inflammation by 75% and 68% respectively. Daily administration of 4 mg total of curcuminoids can prevent joint inflammation of arthritis.

Green Tea

Green tea or scientifically known as Camellia sinensis Linn is originated from the mainland of China, South and Southeast Asia. Active compounds inside the green tea are polyphenols (catechins and flavonols), caffeine and essential oil and the most substantial catechin in epigallocatechin which is the powerful antioxidant. Green tea contains with the abundance of epigallocatechin 3-gallate (EGCG) in which the scientists from the University of Michigan found can lessen the inflammation and joint pain by limiting the production of certain molecules in the immune system.

All these plants and herbs are a remedy which has been in practice as a multipurpose healing agent.
