The first thing pregnant women with diabetes need is a reasonable diet. The diet should be specifically designed based on the guidance of your doctor or dietician. Energy demands depend on your pre-pregnancy weight, weight gain from pregnancy and also on the needs assessment earlier energy. Most pregnant women need to add more 300 calories compared with the daily standard whether they have diabetes or not.

A suitable exercise regimen

Exercising regularly and gently can help control blood glucose levels. However, the practice must be very cautious and well consulted.

During pregnancy, insulin is a safe medication since it does not cross the placenta.
