What is Isomil used for?

The Isomil family of products are source of complete, balanced nutrition designed especially for kids from 0-24 months.

Isomil is formulated especially for infant feeding for birth, to meet the nutritional needs for infants to suffer from lactose intolerance, milk allergy and diarrhea.

How should I take Isomil?

Your baby’s health depends on carefully following these directions. Proper hygiene, handling, and storage are important when preparing infant formula. Failure to follow these directions could result in severe harm. Ask your baby’s doctor if you need to use cooled, boiled water for mixing and if you need to boil (sterilize) bottles, nipples, and rings before use.

  • Wash your hands, surfaces and utensils.
  • Pour water into clean bottle.
  • Add 1 unpacked level scoop (8.3 g) to each 2 fl oz of water.
  • Return dry scoop to container.
  • Cap bottle, shake well, attach nipple.
  • Once feeding begins, use within 1 hour or discard.

How do I store Isomil?

Isomil is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Isomil in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Isomil that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

You should not flush Isomil down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. It is important to properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist for more details about how to safely discard your product.

What should I know before using Isomil?

  • Soy formulas are not recommended for premature infants with birth weights less than 1800 g.
  • Never use a microwave oven to warm formula. Serious burns can result.
  • Powdered infant formulas are not sterile and should not be fed to premature infants or infants who might have immune problems unless directed and supervised by your baby’s doctor.

Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

There are no adequate studies in women for determining risk when using Isomil during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Please always consult with your doctor to weigh the potential benefits and risks before taking Isomil. Isomil is pregnancy risk category A, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services (115) or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Isomil, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
