What is Tonicalcium® used for?

Tonicalcium® is commonly used as a supplement to treat these conditions, such as:

  • AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome)

What is the dose of Tonicalcium® for an adult?

Recommended doses in some cases are listed below:

  • Usual Adult Dose for Dietary Supplement: 50 to 200 mg/day.
  • Usual Adult Dose for Urinary Acidification: 4 to 12 g/day in 3 to 4 divided doses.
  • Usual Adult Dose for Scurvy: 100 to 250 mg once or twice daily for a minimum of two weeks.

What is the dose of Tonicalcium® for a child?

Recommended doses in some cases are listed below:

  • Usual Pediatric Dose for Dietary Supplement: 35 to 100 mg/day.
  • Usual Pediatric Dose for Urinary Acidification: 500 mg every 6 to 8 hours.
  • Usual Pediatric Dose for Scurvy: 100 to 300 mg/day in divided doses for a minimum of two weeks.

How is Tonicalcium® available?

Tonicalcium® is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

  • Solution, DL-Lysine Ascorbate 500 mg; Vitamin C (Calcium Ascorbate) 500 mg
  • Solution, DL-Lysine Ascorbate 250 mg; Vitamin C (Calcium Ascorbate) 250 mg

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Tonicalcium®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
