What is Prevacid 24HR® (lansoprazole) used for?
Prevacid 24HR® is commonly used to treat frequent heartburn (occurs 2 or more days a week). It is not intended for immediate relief of heartburn; this drug may take 1 to 4 days for full effect.
How should I take Prevacid 24HR® (lansoprazole)?
14-Day Course of Treatment
Swallow 1 capsule with a glass of water before eating in the morning.
Take every day for 14 days.
Do not take more than 1 capsule a day.
Swallow whole. Do not crush or chew capsules.
Do not use for more than 14 days unless directed by your doctor.
Repeated 14-Day Courses (if needed)
You may repeat a 14-day course every 4 months.
Do not take for more than 14 days or more often than every 4 months unless directed by a doctor.
How do I store Prevacid 24HR® (lansoprazole)?
Prevacid 24HR® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Prevacid 24HR® in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Prevacid 24HR® that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

What should I know before using Prevacid 24HR® (lansoprazole)?
Before using this drug, tell your doctor if:

What is the dose of Prevacid 24HR® (lansoprazole) for an adult?

This product is to be used once a day (every 24 hours), every day for 14 days.
It may take 1 to 4 days for full effect, although some people get complete relief of symptoms within 24 hours.
