Uses

What is Otipax® used for?

Otipax® is a solution for ear drops, containing 4.00 g Phenazone and 1.00 g Lidocaine hydrochloride. It is commonly used as a local treatment of pain due to certain types of otitis with intact eardrum:

  • Congestive acute otitis media
  • Phlyctenular viral otitis
  • Barotrauma otitis

How should I take Otipax®?

You should:

  • Unscrew the stopper of the bottle.
  • Screw on the dropper on the bottle.
  • Remove the cap of the dropper.
  • Turn the bottle upside down then apply gentle pressure to the dropper to obtain 1 drop.
  • Squeeze again until 4 drops are obtained.
  • Screw the white cap back on.

How do I store Otipax®?

Otipax® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Otipax® in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Otipax® that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

What is the dose of Otipax® for an adult?
