What is Norcolut® (norethisterone) used for?
Norcolut® is commonly used for premenstruation syndrome, postponement of menstruation, mastodynia, cycle disturbance associated with shortening of secretory phase, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, glandular cystic endometrial hyperplasia, endometriosis, adenomyosis, prevention of lactation, ablactation, dysfunctional menopausal bleeding.
How should I take Norcolut® (norethisterone)?
This drug comes as a tablet. Drink it whole with full glass of water. Swallow it whole. Do not chew or crush. Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

The recommended dose will depend on the condition you are being treated for.
How do I store Norcolut® (norethisterone)?
Norcolut® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Norcolut® in the bathroom or the freezer. What is the dose of Norcolut® (norethisterone) for an adult?
Premenstrual syndrome, mastodynia, irregular cycles
The recommended dose is 1-2 tab daily from 16th-25th day of cycle, combined with estrogen if necessary.
Dysfunctional uterine bleeding & glandular cystic endometrial hyperplasia
The recommended dose is 1-2 tab daily for 6-12 days. To prevent relapse, 1-2 tab daily from 16th-25th day of cycle, combined with estrogen if necessary.
The recommended dose is 1 tab daily from 5th-25th day of cycle for 6 months or ½ tab daily, continuously from 5th day of cycle, raising dose by ½ tab every 2-3 week for 4-6 months.
Postponement of menstruation
The recommended dose is 1 tab tds for max of 10-14 days, starting 3 days before expected onset of menstruation.
What is the dose of Norcolut® (norethisterone) for a child?
The dosage has not been established in pediatric patients. It may be unsafe for your child. It is always important to fully understand the safety of the drug before using. Please consult with your doctor or pharmacist for more information.

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?
In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.
What should I do if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose of Norcolut®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
