Mobic® is commonly used for treating rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. It reduces pain, swelling, and stiffness of the joints.
Mobic® is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Meloxicam can reduce hormones that cause inflammation and pain.
Take this Mobic® by mouth as directed by your doctor with or without food, usually once daily. Drink a full glass of water (240 milliliters) with it unless your doctor tells you otherwise. Do not lie down for at least 10 minutes after taking this drug.
Shake the oral suspension (liquid) well just before you measure a dose.
If stomach upset occurs while taking this medication, take it with food, milk, or an antacid.
Mobic® can increase your risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, especially if you use it long term or take high doses, or if you have heart disease. Do not use this medicine just before or after heart bypass surgery
Mobic® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Mobic® in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Mobic® that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.
You should not flush Mobic® down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so. It is important to properly discard this product when it is expired or no longer needed. Consult your pharmacist for more details about how to safely discard your product.

Ask a doctor or pharmacist before using any other cold, allergy, or pain medicine. Medicines similar to meloxicam are contained in many combination medicines. Check the label to see if a medicine contains an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) such as aspirin, ibuprofen, ketoprofen, or naproxen.

Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction to Mobic®: sneezing, runny or stuffy nose; wheezing or trouble breathing; hives; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Get emergency medical help if you have signs of a heart attack or stroke: chest pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, feeling short of breath.
Not everyone experiences these side effects. There may be some side effects not listed above. If you have any concerns about a side-effect, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Mobic® may interact with other drugs that you are currently taking, which can change how your drug works or increase your risk for serious side effects. To avoid any potential drug interactions, you should keep a list of all the drugs you are using (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. For your safety, do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any drugs without your doctor’s approval.

For Osteoarthritis:
Initial dose: 7.5 mg orally once daily
Maintenance dose: 7.5 mg orally once daily
Maximum dose: 15 mg orally daily
For Rheumatoid Arthritis:
Initial dose: 7.5 mg orally once daily
Maintenance dose: 7.5 mg orally once daily
Maximum dose: 15 mg orally daily
For Juvenile (children at least 2 years old) Rheumatoid Arthritis:
Greater than or equal to 2 years: 0.125 mg/kg orally once daily
Maximum dose: 7.5 mg orally daily
Mobic® is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:
In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.
If you miss a dose of Mobic®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
