Uses

What is Hexaspray® (biclotymol) used for?

Hexaspray® is commonly used for local symptomatic treatment of acute oropharyngeal disorders.

How should I take Hexaspray® (biclotymol)?

To use this drug, you should:

  • Shake before each use.
  • To spray, simply rotate the rod tip a quarter turn.
  • Spray holding the bottle upright.
  • After rotating the tip, press thereof directing the spray at the bottom of your throat.
  • Keep Hexaspray® vertically.

How do I store Hexaspray® (biclotymol)?

Hexaspray® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Hexaspray® in the bathroom or the freezer. There may be different brands of Hexaspray® that may have different storage needs. It is important to always check the product package for instructions on storage, or ask your pharmacist. For safety, you should keep all medicines away from children and pets.

This drug is contraindicated in case of:

  • Children under 30 months (risk of laryngospasm)

Prolonged use (more than 5 days) is not desirable because it is likely to alter the natural microbial balance of the throat.

Simultaneous or sequential use of antiseptics should be avoided due to possible interference (antagonism, inactivation).

In case of occurrence of fever, sputum (phlegm) purulent, a difficulty swallowing food as in case of worsening or no improvement after 5 days, consult your doctor.

Is it safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

What is the dose of Hexaspray® (biclotymol) for an adult?

Spray 2 sprays of Hexaspray® for each time, 3 times a day. Do not exceed 5 days of treatment.

What is the dose of Hexaspray® (biclotymol) for a child?

Children over 30 months

The recommended dose is 2 sprays 3 times daily.

How is Hexaspray® (biclotymol) available?

Hexaspray® is available in the following dosage forms and strengths:

  • Hexaspray® oromucosal spray 0.75 g

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Hexaspray®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
