What is Controloc® (pantoprazole) used for?

Controloc® is commonly used for the short-term treatment of the symptoms of acid reflux in adults. Acid reflux is when acid produced in the stomach escapes into the gullet, causing heartburn and acid regurgitation (acid flowing up into the mouth).

How should I take Controloc® (pantoprazole)?

Take it by mouth and as directed by your doctor. Take 1hour before meals. Swallow it whole, do not chew or crush.

Controloc® should only be used for a short time (7 to 10 days) until you are able to take medicine by mouth. Discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.

What is the dose of Controloc® (pantoprazole) for a child?

Erosive Esophagitis5 years and older:

15 to less than 40 kg, the recommended dose is 20 mg orally once a day.

40 kg and greater, the recommended dose is 40 mg orally once a day.

Duration of therapy is up to 8 weeks.

Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease5 years and older:

15 to less than 40 kg, the recommended dose is 20 mg orally once a day.

What should I do in case of an emergency or overdose?

In case of an emergency or an overdose, call your local emergency services or go to your nearest emergency room.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose of Controloc®, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your regular dose as scheduled. Do not take a double dose.
