What is Cefobid® (sterile cefoperazone) used for?
Cefobid® is indicated for the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible organisms:
- Respiratory tract infections
- Peritonitis and other intra-abdominal infections
- Bacterial septicemia
- Infections of the skin and skin structures
- Pelvic inflammatory disease, endometritis, and other infections of the female genital tract
- Urinary tract infections
How should I take Cefobid® (sterile cefoperazone)?
This drug is given as an injection by your doctor.
How do I store Cefobid® (sterile cefoperazone)?
Cefobid® is best stored at room temperature away from direct light and moisture. To prevent drug damage, you should not store Cefobid® in the bathroom or the freezer. What is the dose of Cefobid® (sterile cefoperazone) for an adult?
The usual adult daily dose is 2 to 4 grams per day administered in equally divided doses every 12 hours.
