You should contact your doctor if you have symptoms of the infection after an abortion:

  • High temperature;
  • Vaginal discharge;

How to diagnose pregnancy before the abortion?

Your doctor will ask about your medical history and will do a physical exam.  You will have lab tests to make sure that you are pregnant. You may also have an ultrasound to determine how old is your baby.

How does abortion happen?

It will depend on how many weeks pregnant you are.

  • Medical abortion, such as misoprostol, mifepristone, methotrexate.
  • Surgical abortion, such as vacuum aspiration or dilation and evacuation (D&E).

After 9 weeks, surgical abortion is usually the only option.
